Grade 12 Physics Extended Experimental Investigation on heat transfer/thermodynamics. An experiment was conducted with a small scale steam engine to determine the optimum starting temperature for the steam engine for it to run the longest in time. This has to be related to a real world scenario which could possibly be a power plant. Talk about energy loss, conversion etc.

Hey there,
in the results the reason for the new/old fuel is because we ran out of wax coated fuel tablets and had to swap fuel. This could be a discussion point with the results for different types of efficiency changes. Or if this is to confusing and dosnt make sense just used the first four tests which the original fuel was used. In the large document there are some pictures at the bottom. There is a small and rough graph which displays the energy that is lost and saved. Can you include the thermal energy equation (Q = m c T) to calculate the optimum starting temperature etc. Include other relevant equations and information related to this experiment and topic. Thankyou.
