As you write, keep these ideas in mind:
Exigence: What is the point of your essay? I recommend that you start by simply writing an initial sketch—no commentary, no judging. Start with the first topic that pops into your head. As you re-work this essay, you will most likely find your exigence at the end. Be sure, either at the end of the essay or at the start, you find some larger purpose for why you wrote about this particular event. Go back and look at how you described Hooks in week 1 and use this as a model.
Constraints: Again, consider Hooks. As you think about the actual essay, what other “texts” come to mind? Is there a particular song, movie, book, tv show that helps you make sense of the significance of the topic? Does the narrative make
