This paper will focus on what you believe the future, both immediate and distant, will bring. a. Where do you see the United States positioned in world affairs (are we still involved in the Middle East, China, Korea , Russia? Are we still the dominant power in the world or has China taken over?) b. In the economy (will you be richer or poorer? Where is the stock market now? Are we trillions in debt? Has that hurt your children's future?) c. In the environment? Are the coasts underwater from melting ice? Are we all wearing oxygen masks like Japan? Do we have enough water to drink? Are we still able to grow food? Who picks the crops now? d. In politics? Are we now a Fascist state? Do we still have a President? e. In the Society, what has happened to the rich and poor? Has the Middle Class disappeared? What has happened to race relations? Are Hispanics a majority or did we get rid of the immigrants? Has funding for education improved? Is classroom discipline still a problem? Have teacher salaries improved? f. Sum up: what has happened to you? What are you doing now? This should make for a fascinating discussion. I'll look forward to hearing from all of you. Even you will be curious to see what others have to say.
