Argumentative Paper:Smoking within a certain amount of feet with a child should be illegal

This is what i have so far. Smoking within a certain amount of feet with a child should be illegal. There should be some type of law stating a person has to be 10 to 20 feet or more away from a child in order to smoke, otherwise there will be consequences like getting a citation or jail time. Too many children have health issues because of second hand smoke. We as people should be able to break that cycle by making laws for this problem. How many times have you went to a restaurant, park, store or anywhere in the public and seen a child around an adult that is smoking? It happens every second of the day. The adult sees no problem in it, because majority of the time it is happening out in the open. Even though it is happening in open air, there is still some smoke lingering around. This is where second hand smoke comes into play. Second hand smoke is just as harmful to a child as the child themselves smoking. That child is still inhaling the smoke that is coming from the person smoking. It is known that second hand smoke can cause asthma also. It can also be deadly if the child is in contact with the smoke enough. That can also come from an adult smoking in the car with a child. The smoke has no way out of the vehicle, except through a small opening of a window. That means majority of the smoke is still lingering around in the vehicle and the child is continuously inhaling the smoke. Most adults that smoke are not taking the child’s health into consideration. If there were laws put into place, they would be more careful with smoking. Of course most people would feel as though smoking outside around a child is fine. No, it is not fine, because that child is still coming in contact with the smoke. Second hand smoke is bad. It causes just as much damage as smoking the cigarette themselves. Even though some of the smoke goes away into the air, some of it is still sticking around and the child is inhaling it little by little. Restaurants should have a no smoking policy. As we all know, some restaurants have a smoking section. That is fine as long as it is outside. That area itself should have a no children allowed rule. No child should be within a certain feet of the area or the parent of the child can get some type of citation. That way, the adults have a safe area they can smoke and the children are away from the second hand smoke. Once these laws and rules are put into place, there won’t be as many children having health issues from second hand smoke. This is the comment i received from the instructor. One thing that might help you develop your thesis further is to provide some facts or statistics about what percentage of children have health issues due to second-hand smoke, or what the health dangers are for them. That would support your point of view even further with strong evidence. This has to be between 7 to 10 pages, not including the cite or reference pages. It is due by Sunday 7-1. I know this is at the last minute, and don't know how busy you are. I am working 11 hours shift 6 days a week. i will pay.
