  • Task 4 - your graph showing the two plotted equations (cost and revenue) is perfect, Eve! I'm not sure how you determined the "break-even" point R(x) to be $100 per day, though. If Homer's Donuts was bringing in daily revenue of $100, and we set that $100 = 8.5x, then solving for x would mean 11.765 dozen donuts needed to be sold to break even. BUT if we put "11.765" in for x in your correctly determined Task 2 cost equation, we get: C(x) = 0.5(11.765) +784 and that results in daily cost of $789.88. That's much greater than $100. What I'm hoping you'll see in Task 4's graph is a visual representation of the "break-even point" between cost and revenue on your graph.

  • ask 6 - I couldn't duplicate your C(x) , R(x) , and R(x) - C(x) values you list in the table. This is just a table to fill in using the equations you came up with in Tasks 2 and 3. In the first column I give you the input, or "x" value. Use that value and the Task 2 equation to come up with the associated cost for producing x dozen assorted donuts (this is the second column of the table). Use that x value again, with the Task 3 equation to come up with the associated gross revenue for producing x dozen assorted donuts (this is the third column of the table). The fourth column in the table asks you to find the difference between the gross revenue and the total cost for producing x dozen donuts. This is called "net revenue". If you know total cost and gross revenue, what do you think you have to do to those numbers to find NET revenue? That's what'll go in the cells in column 4. Try these and see what you get!

  • Task 9 - your graph has two of the constraint inequalities plotted, but you also need to account for the fact that there's no such thing as "negative" numbers of ads (you need tyo also plot the inequalities x ≥ 0 and y ≥ 0. When you plot all four constraint inequalities on the same graph, you'll see a polygon-shaped "feasible region" appear. The "feasible region" contains all possible ordered-pair points that can simultaneously satisfy all four constraint inequalities. The corners of the polygon shape are located at the valid "corner points" of the feasible region. That's what you're looking for to fill in the Task 10 table. Please feel free to try www.desmos.com for plotting all four inequalities on the same graph; it's quick and really easy to use.

  • Task 10 - The only valid "corner point" on your table I can duplicate is (0, 0). I also can't determine how you come up with 7 internet ads and 5 TV ads as optimum numbers to get maximum "reach" when (7, 5) is NOT one of your stated corner points.
