Students are required to submit a 2,000-word essay which critically evaluates the impact that Human Resources can have on overall business performance via resourcing and development. This is sometimes referred to as the "Added Value" that Human Resources can bring to an organisation. You should respond to the following question: "How does the HR function add value to an organisation through its resourcing and development activities?" In writing this essay you should select one function of interest related to "Resourcing" and one function related to "Development". Suggested functions/topics directly relating to class sessions are included in the table below. However, these lists are not exhaustive and you may wish to choose something more specific related to one of these areas.
