Attention GRETCONTENTCREATOR!! Case Study Deloris is a master's prepared clinical nurse who is leading an evidenced-based practice team that manages the care of Stanely, an elderly male who is not expected to live through the night. His family requests last rites for him. The bedside nurse notifies the priest on call, and he is unavailable. She then notifies the supervisor (a nun) and is told that the nun is busy in the pharmacy. The family asks the bedside nurse to pray a common Roman Catholic Prayer for them, but she is unfamiliar with the desired prayer. She stays with the patient and his family; unfortunately, no one prays the desired prayer not conducts last rites for Stanely before his death. As the team reflects on this event, they conclude that a pamphlet of diverse yet common prayers would be beneficial for healthcare providers. They want to couple this with an education module to facilitate use of this resource.

What are some systems and processes that Deloris's team might need to address for this project? I asked the professor clarification about question #4. This is her answer: Think about I you were to make a brochure at your institution. What approvals, committees, policies, and other processes would you need approval, permission, etc.? You will probably need to ask about this. Remember you are going to disseminate information to patients, families etc. on the topic of religious practices. Can you just give these pamphlets out yourself?
