Instruction
Culture, values, and underlying beliefs impact many aspects of life. For instance, some cultures introduce alcohol at a younger age than others. Some cultures include the entire family in important decisions, while others use only one or two family members. A human services organization's own culture, values, and underlying beliefs can impact the services offered and their delivery. For instance, many human services organizations provide bilingual staff or adjust practices in order to meet the needs of multiple cultures. In addition, counseling, abortion, and ex-offender restoration services can vary considerably between communities.
This week you examine how culture, values, and underlying beliefs impact human services.
