Hello class, first, I found "Winter Dreams" to be an interesting read. I feel that the character Dexter, is very delusional and the character Judy is narcissistic. Dexter is wrapped in his own delusional because he thinks that if he has a lot of money he will win Judy over. He’s so delusional that he cheats on his fiancee, Irene for Judy who ends up marrying an abusive man in the end. Moreover, Judy is so wrapped up in her own world of self-absorption that she says the following: "I'm more beautiful than anybody else," she said brokenly, "why can't I be happy?" (Fitzgerald). I think that Judy is a cross between Jordan, Myrtle, and Daisy because Judy is a golf player like Jordan, she cares about money like Myrtle, and she's beautiful like Daisy. The relationship between Fitzgerald and Hemingway appears very strained. It seems that at one point they were friends, but after some time his opinion of Fitzgerald changed. It seems that Hemingway had unresolved issues with Fitzgerald even
