Paper – Knowledge of Contemporary Issues This requires that every student in this course should demonstrate his/her ability to write a technical paper following all the generally accepted criteria for such papers. Also, all the students in CS, EE, CpE and Biometrics should demonstrate their knowledge of contemporary issues necessary to understand the impact of the technical solutions in a global and societal context (Outcome “J” in ABET). This assignment is designed to document your proficiency in writing technical documents as well as meeting the ABET outcome “J”. Your paper should be approximately ten pages long (about 4000 words). It should be written using technically correct language. You should select at least five top contemporary issues relevant to your field and provide an in-depth discussion of each issue and its impact on society. Your paper should be aimed at the general reader and should be free from excessive jargon. Below is a list of some of the well-known issues. However, you should not limit yourself to this list.
