Industrialization is an important part of how we use resources to support how we live. Industrial accidents often affect people, wildlife, vegetation, air, and water around us. Chemistry is part of the events involved in many of the accidents. This assign will help you learn how to assess environmental mishap and weight the costs and benefits to humanity. Watch a YouTube or other internet source documentary of greater than 15 minutes on an industrial catastrophe that affected the environment (water, air, people, animals, plants, etc.) in an adverse way AFTER 2007. Give the title and full source. – 2 points (no title page needed) Write a 1-1 ½ pages maximum with two references/citations. – 2 points Include the following in the paper: Brief introduction – 2 points Body 2-3 paragraphs discussion on the problem, science, environmental impact, and the solution – 15 points Conclusion – How you felt and why; what could have been done better – 4 points Rubric Field 1 - Environmental Impact Field 1 - Environmental Impact Criteria Ratings Pts This criterion is linked to a Learning Outcome 1. Conclusion: How you felt, why; what could be done better 4.0 pts Full M I do not have a preferred format for any of the field assignments. Use your own best judgment. It must meet the Rubric; that is the only requirement DO NOT give me more than 2 pages total. I will reject it automatically if it is over 2 pages. Therefore, I DO NOT need a separate title page or citation page. I will not be grading the writing format as long as it meets any reasonable writing standard. Focus on the CONTENT; that is what I will be looking for.
