Create an outline (that you will hand in with your essay) that clearly details how you plan to present your comparison.k Outline for block format: Introduction: In your introduction, you should introduce the articles by name, along with the names of the authors. Present the main issues and summarize the general area around which they differ. For example, what are the main points they diverge on? Content? Form? Style? (Save the details for your in-depth analysis of the articles that you will do in the body paragraphs.) Your thesis should mention both articles and your planned approach to their analysis and comparison. Body paragraphs: Body Paragraph one should be an *analysis of the first article that includes Where the article was published Some details about who the author is Body paragraph two should be a similar analysis of the second article Body Paragraph three is where you will compare the two articles. You can write more than one paragraph of comparison if you feel it necessary. Be sure to focus on the same criteria that you used in your analysis. *Your analysis sections should be based on guidelines that we have studied in class and should include some the following things (not necessarily all): -summary of the article that includes: The topic, and answers to the questions who, what, when, where, and why; -genre -purpose -audience -tone -claims Conclusion Restate your thesis.
