After reading The New York Times article and follow-up email from Jeff Bezos, you will write a two- page double-spaced minimum (12-point font, Times New Roman, 1-inch margins) paper. Please answer the following questions in your paper. 1. Based on what was describe in the article and the case study, would you want to work at Amazon’s headquarters? Why or why not? 2. Think about the individual differences discussed in ch. 2. What types of characteristics (such as personality traits, or other individual differences) would be a good fit for Amazon’s culture? What types of characteristics would make someone a bad fit for this culture? 3. Consider both “sides” of the Amazon argument—both those former employees quoted in the New York Times article, as well as some current employees (and Bezos) who refute the depiction of Amazon’s culture. What types of perceptual biases could be influencing their perception of Amazon? Provide at least one type of potential bias that could affect the perceptions on both “sides.” 4. Are the stressors that employees experience at Amazon challenge stressors, hindrance stressors, or both? Provide examples in your answer. 5. Do you think employees at Amazon potentially have work-to-family conflict, family-to-work conflict, and/or positive spillover? Why or why not?
