Directions: To gain a better insight on opportunities within Food and Nutrition, studenst must volunteer 5 hours to a non-profit food and nutrition organization - which could include the following, but not limited to – • a food bank, • women’s shelter, • soup kitchen, • church, • FOOD SHARE SC, • food pantry, • World Food Day, and/or • SC Hunger Coalition.
• Write a two-page summary describing your experience and personal reflections, include the organization’s history, funding sources, and population served.
• Also include in your summary, a description of the safety principles related to food, personnel and consumers that you encountered during your time at the facility. (KRDN 4.5: Describe safety principles related to food, personnel and consumers).
