Instruction
Class introduction to the daily topic:
At the beginning of class, one or two students will introduce the assigned topic. In approximately 4-5 minutes (each), suggest why the biblical texts (both those quoted in Hayes and the assigned texts) with their individuals, laws, historical events, morality, theology, bad jokes, conflicting messages, are important, relevant, intriguing, offensive to modern sensibilities, controversial, irrelevant, (or a combination). Quote relevant biblical passages to support your contentions. Please turn in your typed comments on the day of your presentation. The paper should be approximately 1000 words (3-5 pages), typed, (1.5 line spaced is fine). Design your introduction to evoke a response from the class.
Each student must work independently; this is designed to be an individual and not a group response to the text. Part of the message is that individuals respond differently to the same texts.
