I went to an accelerated associates degree program to become an RN so all of the courses were intense. It was a lot of things to learn in short amount of time. Nursing school is like a full time job. It is very difficult to work while attending nursing school because you have lecture classes and you also have required clinical experiences. Although the classes were difficult and the clinical hours were long I found the classes to be very interesting. I had excellent instructors who gave a lot of real life experiences and made classes very enjoyable.

In nursing you more than likely will need to work holidays and weekend. I think the most difficult part of being a nurse is dealing with death and loss. Death is inevitable but when you develop a relationship with a patient and family it is hard saying goodbye. You do everything you can to help your patients and make them comfortable.

There are so many different fields you could go into being an RN. I deal with difficult situations by taking a step back and taking a breath when I am feeling myself becoming frustrated. I think having empathy is the best way to deal with a difficult situation.
