Original Post (Oct. 25-31): Post-Great War, Depression and War Again, 1921-1941
Directions: To formulate your answer to the questions (see below) for the original post you need to use the resources I provided for you in this course (lectures, primary sources, book readings, etc.) Failure to do so will affect your grade accordingly. Then address one or more of the questions below.
What conclusions can be drawn from all the sources so far read or viewed about the political, cultural, and/or economic situation[s] in the U.S. during 1921-1945? What effect did the Second World War have on U.S. relations with the world? What effect did the Second World War have on U.S. views on "race"? How did the U.S. entrance into the Second World War resolve (or not) political, cultural, racial and/or economic problems experienced from 1921-1941?
Primary source analysis:
choose one of the two pdfs in the uploaded files and do the following:
The primary source analyses (PSA) should be at least 200-300 words (that is, roughly 1/2-1 page if you have 1” margins, 12 font, Times New Roman, and double-spaced).
Each primary source analysis should explain to the reader for example:
1) Who were the author[s], date and/or origins of the primary source?
2) To who was document directed?
3) What were the main idea[s] and/or argument[s] of the primary source?
4) What were the political, religious, and/or social messages[s] of the primary document?
5) How did it relate to the era it originated or what does it teach us about the society where it originated?
