For this assignment, I want you to practice writing a thesis statement and one supporting paragraph for your 3rd paper. The topic you will be using for this practice will not be a an option for the actual paper, hence the reason it is practice. The goal of this assignment is to help you understand how to write the 3rd paper. For practice, please write a thesis statement- different from the ones I present in the guide for writing the 3rd paper- and one supporting paragraph based on the essays titled. "Point: Online Degree Programs Offer a Competitive Edge" and "Counterpoint: Online Degree Programs are Inferior to Traditional Forms of Higher Education." You may use the guide for writing the 3rd paper to choose one of the categories in the table for the contrasts to write the supporting paragraph or create your own contrast topic. As you write the supporting paragraph, you will be favoring one argument over the other and showing the contrast of how the authors view the specific topic. I would like for you to directly quote from the essays to represent each point of view. I also want you to explain and rationalize why one argument is stronger than the other, using additional personal and/or real life examples if needed.
