"For your first writing assignment, you will create a scholarly paper from five to seven pages in length that discusses cultural differences related to emotion socialization among children. Using the Tarleton Libraries' online databases, identify a minimum of three recent (2000 to the present) peer-reviewed journal articles (no books, no websites, no interviews, no trade magazines) that have addressed emotion socialization in children. Discuss those articles in a brief, integrated review of the current research on this topic. This paper should be written as though it is the Introduction section of an APA style research report. That is, your paper should summarize the research and and relevant theory(ies) on your topic. The information from your sources should be integrated. Thus, you should not simply summarize each source in separate, unrelated paragraphs. Integrate the findings of the sources to provide an overview of the brief body of literature you are reviewing. Your paper should be formatted according to the general rules of APA style and must include in-text citations, a title page, an Abstract, and a references page in addition to the body of the paper. Each student should submit a .doc or .docx document no later than the stated deadline. Do not submit your work in pdf, rtf, or any open source format. Google Docs are not acceptable. Late submissions will not be accepted. This is an individual assignment."
