3.Issues, Confusions, and Mysteries with An American Marriage by Tayari Jones P. 1-91
As you read the novel, note things that make reading or understanding the story difficult (issues, confusions, mysteries). Maybe it's something the author seems to be doing but you can't understand why. Or maybe it's something about the structure of the story or the vocabulary. Maybe you find your mind wandering, or you're distracted by your environment. Maybe it's a lack of connection with the character or subject matter. Maybe you're not used to reading a novel. Whatever it is that makes for difficulties, mention it here.
Next, talk about what kind of strategies you used to help when any difficulties came up. Did you reread certain passages? Just keep reading until it made sense? Take breaks between readings? Use a dictionary?
Though you may discuss general difficulties and issues that came up, please note at least one specific part of the story where a difficulty, confusion, or mystery came up.
