Instruction
1. You should have a catchy title and specific thesis statement. pick a theme from the reading to focus on and tell us what you think of it. Is it accurate, Utopian, old fashioned, etc. Why do you think this? Utilize other readings from the class to bolster your argument. Find a multi-media link to bring to bear on your argument. Do not merely summarize the article. You should spend more time elaborating upon your thesis statement. Think of it as a formal paper.
2. [explanation] - This will allow you to nuance the article being read for the class. In other words, you should NOT simply say that the article is correct. You should say that there is something missing and the additional article you bring up will help to frame this additional aspect that was not considered. There is no reason for you to write a blog that basically says this other person is right, end of story. I want you to be able to come up with your own ideas.
3. make sure you mention your "artifact" in your thesis statement in last sentence of the first paragraph. This means that your blog should be about this artifact that you are bringing up. Bring it up in your thesis AND write about it. We have all read the article already so summarizing is not useful. Instead, tell me why you chose to write about this artifact. Again, it is NOT very interesting to say the author says this and she is completely right and here is an example that illustrates how right she is; do NOT find a lecture of someone explaining the reading; Instead, say the author says this, and she is wrong because of x, does not consider x, focuses too much on x. And this x will likely be shown by the artifact that you are analyzing. Again, the point here is to get you to think and write about your own ideas instead of regurgitating what other people have said.
