Part Three Explore chronological issues, stemming from relative chronologies, by discussing the following examples of internal contradictions I Kings 15:25 with 15:33 Cf. I kings 16:8 with 16:10,15 State the contradiction between the synchronistic data (presumably derived originally from a synchronistic kinglist) and that of the regnal years (presumably derived originally from a regular kinglist). Explain how the system of ante-dating can resolve the above contradictions. Feel free to use a diagram or plot a timeline. II Kings 15: 8 with 15:13 State the contradiction between the synchronistic data and that of the regnal years. Explain why the system of ante-dating will not explain the contradiction. Explain how differences in the beginning of the royal year in Judah and Israel can resolve the contradiction. II Kings 14:23 with II Kings 15: 8 Determine what year of Jeroboam’s reign synchronized with the 38th year of Azariah (a.k.a Uzziah). From that datum, the first year of Azariah’s reign corresponded with which year of Jeroboam’s reign? Compare your result with II Kings 15:1. State the contradiction. Explain how co-regency can resolve the contradiction. Is there any support to be gleaned from II Kings 14 to support the theory of co-regency for Azariah?
