Study and understand Martin Buber's premise that humans must relate to one another as persons rather than as objects. What does he mean by this and how would this "I-and-Thou" relationship help us to become "fully human"?
To further understand Buber, you might want to look at:
I and Thou, 1923, his most essential and famous text
Paths in Utopia was published in 1946.
Then…..apply this to your study of World Religions. Create a personal charter of five (5) points that will guide your conduct when meeting people from other traditions. This is your personal charter. So don’t download one of these massive United Nations, or World Council of Churches charters and try to make it your own.
If you desire to be a teacher – then write it from the perspective of education.
If you are in law enforcement, graphic design, modeling, the sciences, technology, the fine arts, the liberal arts – write it from that perspective. Life from this point onward will never be in a vacuum. We live in a diversified society.
