please follow instruction provided in attachment. i am looking for the essay to be no longer than 4 pages. (apa style) this is a Communcation high level course that will review all papers through a third party for plagerism and etc. please use theories and examples, such as social learning theory, cultivation theory, etc, while explaining its Cognitive, affective, and behavioral effects in the situation. Course Description: Media Madness Media play an integral role in shaping public perception about mental health, illness, and treatment. The goal of this course is to familiarize students with social scientific research about the influence of mediated depictions of mental illness on the public perception about mental health in contemporary society. We will examine the social and psychological effects of portrayals of mental illness in news, entertainment, commercial, and social media sources.Central to this goal is an examination of how media perpetuate social stigma surrounding mental illness by shaping ourbeliefs about the causes, effects, and treatments for a range of mental illnesses. We will also explore how media messages can be used strategically to disseminate mental health education and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness. This is an upper-division special topics course for the communication major, which means that this is a reading, writing, and discussion intensive course. I approach the lecture and reading material with a level of rigor that reflects my assumption that students have knowledge of communication theory and research. Every student is expected to actively and consistently contribute to discussion and analysis.
