This is the subject, I also have a template for the essay that has to be followed that is attached. 2000 words! Subject 1: Shrinking glaciers and water supply in Central and Southeast Asia. Glacial retreat is a hot topic in the debate on climate change, but less light is shed on that fact that this also connects tightly to water resources. Numerous societies (and ecosystems) rely on the continuous supply of glacial meltwater, both for drinking water and other uses. In Central and Southeast Asia for example, many of the biggest rivers originate in the Himalayas or the Tibetan Plateau, and disturbances in their discharge supply is now becoming an evident issue. -In this topic you may choose to focus even further on for example general glacial retreat in this region, water supply and usage in a particular river or maybe historical/future development. -Just be sure to narrow the scope sufficiently to focus on one specific region (in Central or Southeast Asia) and a well-defined related issue. Use at least 4 scientific articles (peer reviewed) as references! NO PLAGIRISM
