Instruction
What are some example of either conventional and/or unconventional protest that you've seen in the news recently. Use your favorite search engine and look for protest in recent news. Is one form of participation more legitimate than others? More effective? More popular? For example, the picture above depicts a young woman protesting against military action, while the other depicts a sit in during the 1960's. One might argue what the young woman is doing is unconventional, and conversely describe the sit-ins as traditional, however sit-ins were considered unconventional at one point as well. Will unconventional protests all one day become conventional? In which form of protest would you be more willing to participate? Why? You do not need to address each and every question, however be sure to address the overarching discussion of the effectiveness of unconventional vs conventional protests. As always, be sure to cite your sources.
