AMH 2010/2020 Internet Assignment Guidelines Chose a web site that deals with a historical topic that will be covered in this course. Be sure that the site you select has enough depth to allow you to complete this assignment. Give a brief overview of the web site. What is about, how you found it and why you chose this site. Please provide all the background material on the web site. This will include such items as the name of the site, if it is associated with a museum (physical or virtual), the purpose or mission of the site (if provided), the owner or provider of the site, is there audio or video material, is this an interactive site or a static site (must be one or the other), is their an index or contents page( tabs), are there additional resources listed, are their recourses cited, and any other pertinent information that will establish the history and background of the site. You must critique and assess the site for its usefulness in historical research. Do not just say I think this is a good web site. Be specific. Try to include both positive and negative appraisals. Also, assess the site on its user friendliness. Do you think it provides enough material for further research projects? This assignment will be turned in on the dates specified in your syllabus. You must submit this in essay form which also mandates it must be typed (double-spaced) with one inch margins. Do not give a list of bullet points addressed to the questions. This is an essay. Include an introduction and a conclusion. Any direct quotations or paraphrased material must be cited. The requirement of two to three pages must be fulfilled. Please give the site address in the heading. If you can not find an internet site which you feel will meet the criteria for this project please see me and I will help you choose one. This web site must relate to the period of history that is covered in this course. For example a web site about Greek civilization is not acceptable. Make sure that your site is of an appropriate educational level. Do not use a web site aimed at young children. You must use the heading style given. This must be single spaced. You do not need a cover page or a works cited page. Papers must be typed and double-spaced, using 10-12 point font. Times New Roman is the required font. Leave 1- inch margins all around. The heading is single spaced. This is not a paper about the subject of the web site (not a research paper). This is a paper about the website itself.
