Instruction
1. The main goal of socially responsible marketing is to be a sustainable and not only benefit the needs of the company but also the customers, community, and environment. Being socially responsible may be interpreted or executed by each company differently. Some companies focus on restoring the environment and using eco-friendly materials; while others may focus on producing organically grown products. No matter what way companies decide to be socially responsible, they must do so in a way that is also legal and ethical. One of the advantages of being socially responsible is the brand equity that is added by consumers engaging in emotionally controlled consumer purchases. Some consumers may buy a certain product or service simply because they partner with a great cause that relates to them some how. It is very important that companies conduct a lot of research and decision taking prior to making corporate philanthropic actions because it may be perceived in a way that tarnishes the companies brand image.
2.Shifts in the marketing industry can affect how consumers will respond to the company's product or service. Today, there has been a large push to end the use of plastic straws. An example of this new trend would be Starbucks. The coffee chain announced last year that it would replace the use of plastic straws with a specially designed lid by 2020 (Garcia, 2018, para 1). Globalization, technology and environmental concerns can also influence a change in the marketplace. Marketers can adapt to these changes in different ways. One way is to reengineer the company's marketing strategy by managing the processes that build customer value. Another way to adapt is to focus on "determining the most profitable businesses and customers and focusing on them" (Kotler & Keller, 2016, p. 658)

3.Within the marketing field there are many different career paths one could take, from creative to analytical. Depending on the type of position, you could do entry level tasks or a more experienced position that handles public relations. Some jobs in marketing would be, advertising, public relations, marketing, promotions, brand, sales and market research analysts. To be honest, marketing is not my strong suit and I would probably do horrible in the field. However, if I had to choose, I would say that the promotions manager position would appeal to me. This is because it involves planning on how to promote by internet, special events, sweepstakes, contests, social media, or anything that would bring profit to the company (All Star Directories, Inc, n.d.).

4.These days it is so important for businesses to think beyond their focus of creating a profitable bottom line, and ensure their company is taking steps towards making the world a better place. This includes having volunteer efforts, conducting business in legal and ethical ways, and in general taking good care of their customers, employees, and their stakeholders. While there are always companies that are found in the news for some sort of white collar crime, there are other companies that are committed to their shareholders, while also being a positive and contributing actor in making the world better for the next generation.
