ten page paper on a religious tradition or movement in the African- American religious experience. Using Arthur Huff Fauset’s, Black Gods of the Metropolis, as a model, you will outline the founder(s), history, belief structure, and practices of the said tradition or movement. Choose from the diverse traditions found among black Protestants (Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, etc.,) Catholics, Muslims (Orthodox Islam, the Nation of Islam, etc.), and practitioners of African derived religions. In your exposition, be sure to highlight the challenges which these traditions and movements have faced and continue to face (moral, political, economic, and otherwise) within the North American context. Because most religious traditions and movements are alive and have devotees in the here and now, you are strongly encouraged to contact and interview the leaders and institutions that represent these expressions of African American religiosity. Again, this paper will be approximately ten pages in length (typed and double spaced). The grade for this paper will be determined by the extent of the research which shaped it
