Communication Theory Paper 2 A hurricane is predicted to make landfall on Bolivar Peninsula. The Larsen family, consisting of a woman (20), her husband (21), and her middle aged parents, must decide to evacuate or remain. The parents own the house, and the father wants to stay to protect the house from being looted. They have a family meeting to discuss the course of action. What does each character say in the decision making interaction? Assume the role of either the female (20) or the male (21). Write the dialogue to illustrate groupthink (Chapter 14). You can use references from movies, TV shows (reality or fiction) etc. to provide examples of the way in which people communicate when engaged in groupthink. Provide the following: Unhappy ending: groupthink is used, and the family pays the ultimate price for their decision.
