Americas from a multicultural perspective enriches our understanding of the past. You must use the arguments (not content, summary, or facts!) of at least 3 of the authors that we have read this semester to help support your own argument. For example, you may choose to cite Restall’s questioning of history’s “great men” to support an argument that multicultural history gives a voice to multicultural actors(i.e. Natives and African Slaves)who may not have made it into textbooks but were equally, if not more, influential in shaping the past. Ask yourself: What should a history of the American “people”really look like? Can one person alone write a satisfying multicultural history? How can historiansrespectfullyaccount for the diversity of actorsfrom the past and present? In what ways canmulticultural history beseen as an avenue for change?
