Instruction
Your understanding of the course material covered so far in the class will be evaluated by reading an article from a national newspaper published within the LAST FOUR MONTHS that deals with an ethical issue. Your task is to explain why it is an ethical issue using material from the course.
Please note that newspaper articles older than four months will be marked as a zero unless you have been granted an exemption by your online instructor.
In your assignment you must
• Deal with an ethical issue and explain why it is an ethical issue.
o Please note that you can write about a positive issue – that is, an example of someone or a group of people who have done something to benefit society or a company that implements best practices – instead of focussing on a negative issue.
• Summarize the article in the first paragraph without expressing your own opinion in the first paragraph.
• Include relevant quotes, concepts & terms from Modules 1, 2 & 3 in the second paragraph to explain how the article relates to the course, with references to all course materials and any external sources.
• Explore the implications of the issue at hand in the remainder of your assignment: that is, explore why the issue that you are writing about is either right or wrong.
• Be logically organized and grammatically correct
• The assignment needs to be two pages, double spaced (roughly 400-500 words).
• You need to include the link to the newspaper article at the beginning of your assignment.
Referencing: You must provide references to all materials used for this assignment. That includes course materials. Use in-text citations and a list of sources at the end of your paper. Any referencing style is acceptable (APA, MLA, etc.) You will lose marks if you do not use references in your assignment, especially if you do not use in-text citations.
Plagiarism: If your assignment has been copied, in part or as a whole, from the Internet, OR from another person, it will be documented and reported to Liberal Arts and Sciences. You will receive a zero grade on the assignment and will not be allowed to resubmit your work.
