Understanding Terrorism Paper Three Criteria – Due Week Six You now have the following: Paper One: Description and History of your selected group/individual Paper Two: Themes from Chapters 1-9 ======================================= For Paper Three, you are going to continue your research into your selected Group/Individual, from Paper 1. For this, you will need the concepts discussed in Chapters 10-12 of the Nacos Text: Chapter 10: Post 9/11 Strategy Chapter 11: Hard Power vs Soft Power Chapter 12: Balancing Security with Individual Rights Select TWO more articles on your selected group/individual and read them thoroughly - they must be different from your Paper 1 and 2 References. Use the Grantham Library and EBSCO to assist. Stick to Journals and avoid relying on the Washington Post and NY Times. In a well-written paper, describe the U.S. and/or Law Enforcement strategy used to combat/defend/defeat the group/individual that you have selected. If your group is exclusive to another region in the world (e.g. - Boko Haram in Nigeria), then research what the Host Nation is doing to combat the terrorism and how the US is (or isn't) assisting. Was this prior to 9/11? If so, was it effective? Post 9/11? If so, is it effective? Describe how this is Hard or Soft power or if it is a combination of the two? How have the security measures taken impacted individual American freedoms? Conclude on the overall effectiveness of the strategy to defeat/defend-against your selected terrorist organization. Your submission will be a minimum of 2 pages and not to exceed 4 pages, excluding the Title Page and Reference Page. You will use APA Standard Format (1" Margins, Times New Roman, 12-point Font, and Double Spacing. No extra space between paragraphs). You should continue to use the references you used in Papers 1 and 2....but make sure you ADD TWO Additional that relate to Paper 3. Hint: start with the Nacos references related to Chapters 10-13....
