Read Honor-Based Violence on pages 92-96 in your textbook and then fully examine and explore the website http://www.stophonourkillings.com/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.. For your discussion post, choose a type of activity that falls into this category (example: bride burnings) and respond to the following: Briefly describe your “activity” and basic information regarding how often it occurs (you may need to do additional research to obtain estimates/data on frequency). Locate a case (true story) involving the activity you choose from either the website provided or a news/media source and summarize it. At a minimum, you should describe what happened, who was involved, how law enforcement and the legal system responded, and what happened to the victim(s) and the perpetrator(s). As always, please respond to two peers in a meaningful way. Make sure that you respond to peers that choose different activities, so that you have an opportunity to learn about more types of honor-based violence.
