Read the SAS Curriculum handout Split Infinitives through Time to discover how one rule of grammatical correctness has changed over the years. Choose ONE of the years in which the split infinitive rules were published (1904, 1946, 1972, 1985). Create a presentation that highlights the social conventions and customs of that year. Give special emphasis to three areas: dress and fashion, rules of etiquette, and writing conventions. Presentations can take a variety of forms: scrapbooks, slide shows, or videos of live demonstrations with visual aids. Research the three subject areas. Include information on dress and fashion through images or drawings. Find at least three important rules of etiquette for the year in question. Finally, present an example of highly regarded nonfiction prose written during that year. Submit your completed presentation here.
