  • Answer #Oxfam models is an essential approach to end global poverty based on its six-sided strategy that aims at weaving together various efforts and connecting with others in overcoming global poverty (Cohen & Garrett, 2015). The core belief of Oxfam models holds that when people have the potential to claim fundamental rights, they can permanently evade poverty. The model operates in more than 90 countries in the world. Therefore, together with their allies, partners and local communities, the Oxfam model has the potential to end poverty. According to the information presented by 13 charts, it demonstrates globalization and its global impact. Am surprised by the populism, protectionism and nationalism associated with the 13 charts and their persistent warnings concerning globalization. High level of support for global migration, collaboration as well as the individual benefits from globalization makes the information of the charts to be surprising.

Additionally, I had never had about Oxfam model, but through this assignment, I have learnt more about the model, including the efforts to end the global poverty. I have also learned that eradication of poverty is key to the development policy of future generations. The aims of sustainable development goals (SDGs) in poverty reduction have been impressive. Statistics show that about 83 million people got lifted from severe poverty between 2016 to 2018 (Fosu, 2017). Moreover, the target is to raise approximately 120 million people from poverty globally by 2030. Although the welcome gains have been promising, the speed of progress is depressing.
