2.Child Sexual Abuse
In today’s world, there are few things that have gotten more attention recently than child sexual abuse. The Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts, schools, athletic programs, and many more groups have been saddled with accusations, criminal prosecution or simply innuendo. As Human service professionals protection of our children is paramount to most of our organization’s purpose. If it’s not an organization accused, then it is one of our families or children that we work with who are either victim or perpetrator. It is almost impossible to escape this topic in today’s society.
Discuss in this Forum the issues of Child Sexual Abuse. Consider prevention methods, treatment programs, reporting issues, prosecution issues, false reporting issues and anything else that you believe to be pertinent to the issue, including whether it is on the rise or is there something creating this environment. Feel free to include current event information. 150words
3.Pornography vs. Prostitution. Consider this quote by Elizabeth Pisani, an epidemiologist specializing in HIV prevention. “For many years now, social policy in the US has been molded by morality. Interestingly, commercial policy hasn't. It's illegal for one adult to pay another for sex, but perfectly legal for two adults to be paid to have sex with one another by a third person, who will film the encounter and then sell it as pornography to other adults.”
In this Forum discuss the question of why Pornography is legal and Prostitution is illegal. Examples of issues to take into consideration: Do you think the laws for either of these should change? What role should government (laws) play in monitoring sex? Where does morality fit with these issues? Who should have a say on pornography and prostitution laws and enforcement? Is there such a thing as victimless crime? 150words
4.STDs/STIs
In Human Sexuality we know that politics play a big role. We've seen that with prostitution, pornography, sexual orientation, gender issues and so on. One of the more politicized areas of human sexuality is the politics of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. From its first recognition, HIV/AIDS has been a political firestorm ranging from the refusal to see it as a health issue that effects all to who should pay for treatment. More recently there has been the controversy over the HPV vaccine and limiting the availability of contraceptives. Add in condom dispersal, abstinence only sex education and criminalization of those that spread STDs or AIDS.
In this forum, discuss the role that politics plays in helping or hindering the fight against STDs. You can discuss one issue or the issue in general. 150words

6.Sexual Health
In our society there is still a significant stigma attached to sexual topics. This stigma is most concerning when referring to sexual health issues. Ignorance on sexual health, embarrassment about sexual issues and societal judgment all contribute to unsafe sexual practices and lack of treatment of sexual health issues. As a human service provider, what steps do you need to take to reduce the stigma, improve access to sexual health care and prevent poor sexual health?
7. Caitlyn Jenner, Chaz Bono, Laverne Cox, Alexis Arquette. Shows like Transparent and changes in laws in many states. Gender Identity is in the news. But it is also one of the most misunderstood and marginalized communities. Discuss in a minimum 3-page paper double spaced what you know about the transgender community, what you need to learn about the transgender community and what changes does human services need to make to better accept, understand and work with the transgender community.
Note: This paper is not a debate about Gender Identity. This assignment assumes that Gender Identity, including Transgender issues, exists and is part of our society. Papers that communicate unsubstantiated misinformation will not be accepted.
