For this assignment you will examine a crime map created for one such study and apply two versions of social disorganization theory to interpret the map. View the presentation, Applying Social Disorganization Theory to Chicago Crime Data [PPTX, File Size 213KB] . It presents and explains a map of homicide and collective efficacy across Chicago neighborhoods from 1996–1998. • Explain how Sampson, Raudenbush, and Earls would interpret this map. • Explain how another version of social disorganization theory might interpret the same homicide patterns. List the additional information you would need to test that theory. • Are the two theories you discussed complementary or competing? Use examples to explain your reasoning. In 800 words and in APA format (words in reference page do not count) address the above, use additional scholarly work to support your work.
