Because you are an expert in the field of criminal justice, the Task Force has summoned you to sit on an Expert Panel to advise the Governor by providing a policy report on a specific area of the criminal justice arena (that is covered in the Mays & Ruddell textbook). Specifically, they want your expert advice on one of the questions below and want you to offer policy recommendations that the State of Florida should implement to address this problem. Thus, your task is to: (1) describe the current state of crime (as it relates to your problem) to the Governor; and (2) help him develop and implement an effective, evidence-based policy by reviewing the research on best and worst practices in one area of criminal justice policy (e.g. policing, correctionsetc.).


Policy Report Structure and Requirements
One (1) typewritten 2,500-word policy paper (+/- 500 words) is required (and this number includes a title page and a reference page).

Please include the word count in the title page.

Structurally, the paper must:

be double-spaced
include 1.0-inch margins
use Times New Roman
use 12-point type size, font
Your paper must draw from 810 sources, which must be cited correctly in the text and be documented correctly in the reference page. Of the total works cited, at least half should be articles from academic journals or books published by an academic press. Works cited and the references must be in APA formats.

You need to write your policy brief in a professional manner, as the audience of your response is Governor Scott and his advisors. Organizationally, the policy report should include five sections that are consistent with a real-world policy brief/report.

These sections include the following:

Executive Summary (250-300 words only)
Introduction
Review of Research and Policies
Conclusion
