First, to address the theme of making statistical concepts personally relevant, review the assignment and your response to the Application Essays for Modules: 1 (“Career and Statistics”), 3 (“z Scores” and “Probability Estimates”),4 (“Hypothesis Testing”), and 8 (“Significance vs. Importance”). Briefly explain how each Application Essay addressed the theme of making statistical concepts personally relevant by describing the assignment and your response.
Second, to address the theme of making statistical concepts professionally relevant, review the assignment and your response to the Application Essays for Modules: 1 (“Career and Statistics”), 2 (“Connecting Statistics”), 5 (“Independent Samples”), 6 (“Related Samples t Test” and “One-Way ANOVA”), 7 (“Repeated ANOVA” and “Two Factor ANOVA”), 8 (“Correlation”). Briefly explain how each Application Essay addressed the theme of making statistical concepts professionally relevant by describing the assignment and your response. You may combine your explanations of the Essays from Modules 6-8 on APA style if you wish.
Third, generalize across the Application Essays to discover my overarching teaching points: 1) ‘the relevance of research to your future career’ and 2) ‘the importance of motivation to your future career.’ Describe the information and activities I included in your Application Essays that taught each of these concepts, and explain the lessons you learned regarding each teaching point. Then, discuss the implications of each of these concepts for your future career. Specifically, explain the consequences of not appreciating the importance of these concepts for your future practice and how you can avoid these consequences.
Finally, after you complete your responses above, compare them to your first Application Essay. Based on your comparison of the two essays, write a response to the following items.
Explain how your knowledge of statistics and its relationship to Psychology have changed during the course of the semester.
Now that you have completed the course, state and explain at least three concepts you learned in this course that you were not initially expecting to learn.
