This week we will examine the employment process in the public school system along with hiring requirements, relocation, and benefits among educators. An interesting policy in the public school system is that with the exception of the superintendent, an employee can be reassigned to any position within the district as long as their compensation is not affected. Can reassignment happen if the teacher does not want a new assignment? Reassignment cannot happen out of retaliation, so consider why this policy might be in place and think about the rights of the teachers and whether their preferences play a part in reassignment decisions.
