Interview Questions and Reflection Journal Assignment Two parts this assignment: Part 1 - Please answer these 5 Interview questions relating to you seeking a job as a future Nurse. Interview Questions to be answered You will answer 5 specific questions (as directed in the attached Video Interview Questions document). 1. Tell us about yourself (Briefly describe your professional interests and experiences). 2. Where do you see yourself in your career in two to three years? (Alternatively: What are your short term career goals (2-3 years))? 3. What are your strengths? What about weaknesses? (Select 2 addition questions (of your choice) from questions 4-8) 4. Teamwork: Talk to us about the value of teamwork. What did you do in your last job (internship or school) to contribute toward teamwork in an environment? 5. Customer Service: Tell me about the most difficult patient (or customer) service experience that you have ever had to handle-perhaps an angry or upset patient (or customer). Be specific and tell what you did and what the outcome was. 6. Initiative/ Motivation: Tell us about a time when you had to solve a problem with very little guidance or direction. 7. Time Management/ Prioritization: Please describe a situation that required you to complete a number of things at the same time. How did you decide what was most important? What was the result? 8. Communication: Tell us about a situation in which you had to speak up or be assertive in order to advocate for a patient (or person) or idea or in order to get an important point across. Video Reflection Journal Reflect and write at least three paragraphs on your experience with this assignment. The questions below may help prompt your thoughts. 1. Discuss if you had experience with video interviewing or this was your first exposure. 2. Discuss and describe your ease or difficulty with this assignment. 3. Describe your struggle or ease with identifying your strengths and weaknesses. 4. Elaborate on how you arrived with your example of one of the behavioral characteristics/ values. 5. Describe how this assignment can be helpful in your graduate nurse interview process.
