I expect all responses to be your own interpretation of what you hear.** ASSIGNMENT Listen to the two madrigals linked below while reading the subtitles. Write a 1-1.5-page response, including the following: How is text painting used in these pieces? Give at least two examples of text painting from each piece. Make sure to speak in terms of the musical elements we learned about in the first few weeks of class. How do these two composers use text painting differently? What is the general mood of each piece and how does the text painting contribute to that mood? Which piece do you like better and why? These pieces were both written at the turn of the 17th century. For each one, would you classify it has a Renaissance piece or Baroque?
