  • After implementing changes observe the children as they engage in play at the area. Reflect on what happened. Were the outcomes what you thought? Why or why not? What will you do next, based on what you saw; what children said, etc.? Repeat 3-6 each day. At the end of the week reflect on the following: What have you learned about materials, and when to change materials in the environment? What did you learn about the utilization of space for various learning areas? What role did children play in these changes? Did changes happen spontaneously during the play? What role do you as an educator play in these changes? Was it natural to make some of the changes for the next day or did it feel as though you were forcing change on the children? How did the changes support ongoing inquiry, learning. How did the 4 foundations influence the changes to space and materials?
