For your third and final case analysis, please read the case study Zipcar: Refining the Business Model in your HBR Coursepack. Provide me an analysis of the case, including a succinct and direct recommendation to Robin Chase (much like you did in your S'Well analyses, except I do not want this in memo format). Be sure to address each of the following questions in your analysis (please do not copy/paste these questions in your essay, just address them somewhere in your analysis):
-Describe Zipcar's business model, including how it has evolved between December 1999 and May 2000. What does the data from the September operations say about how the business model is playing out in practice?
-What actions do you recommend Chase take as a result of your analysis of the September operating data (Exhibit 8B)?
-What is the strongest argument Chase could make to a potential investor regarding the potential attractiveness of Zipcar as an investment opportunity? Specifically, what do you recommend she be sure to include in her pitch at the upcoming Springboard venture forum?
Your recommendation should clearly address question #3 - this is the essence of the problem the case is centered around. However, to do so adequately, you will need to address the other questions as well. Start with your recommendation regarding her pitch, then use the remainder of your analysis to justify your proposed structure and the elements you are recommending she include. Your analysis should be somewhere in the 2-4 page range. Be advised: if your paper is toward the bottom end of that page length requirement, it had better be an absolute knockout. Single spaced, of course. For your reference, I have attached the excel spreadsheet with the financial from the case.
