Instruction
find reliable sources considered multiple views, and come up with a working thesis, you're ready to begin writing. The best way to do this is to focus on using rhetorical appeals. This means you need to think about how you'll move your argument forward logically, what specific details and examples you'll use to better persuade your audience, and how you'll establish your credibility as a trustworthy person whose views should be considered.
Your assignment for this module is to compose a draft of your original researched argument. Your draft should be at least six pages long and have a works cited page showing at least eight sources. I'm not too concerned about an introduction, as some folks write the introduction after they've written the whole paper. At the minimum, you need to have your thesis at the beginning of the paper. You'll find the assignment sheet for the researched argument in the course materials for this module along with a rubric to help you compose your draft.
Here's a list of what your draft should exhibit:
a thesis either underlined or highlighted whether in your introduction or listed at the top of your paper
body paragraphs that show how you use logic, emotion, and establish credibility
body paragraphs that follow the model paragraph I've supplied with the quote sandwich
a basic organizational structure using transitions
an MLA formatted works cited page with at least eight sources
You'll submit your draft as an attachment in the discussion board thread for Module Five. In the text box where you usually submit your work, write a brief summary of your draft--why your thesis is arguable and how the reasons you supply support it, how you used logic, emotion, and established credibility. List one aspect of your paper, you'd like me to look at and one aspect you think you did well with.
