Policing and corrections both have paramilitary cultures that often discourage change and innovation. Institutionalization also makes police departments and correctional facilities prone to organizational failure and resistant to change. Describe and discuss a specific instance from your professional experience in which administration has attempted to implement a significant change. Consider, for instance, what processes allowed it to occur? what forces were resistant and why? did institutionalization play a role? how, ultimately, did the change become implemented, if it did? (or did it fail?!) Then, share how you would attempt to implement the change if you were the administrator in the case. ( Use a Police Officer professional experience regarding the assignment and this is a 500+ word essay )
