This will be five pages in length, double-spaced, in 12 point font. APA style for citations. Select a current event, current issue, or personal experience you would like to explore. Analyze this topic through the lens of Émile Durkheim. Alternatively, you may compare and contrast how two theorists might approach understanding this topic. You should clearly articulate what the “problem” you are investigating is. (10 percent). You should clearly introduce, define, and apply the theories you are using. This is your opportunity to demonstrate you comprehend and can apply the theories covered in class. (50 percent). You should use two additional academic sources not assigned in class. These sources can be original texts from the theorists you are using or academic articles that expand upon the original theories. In either case, your sources must be academic. In other words, they must be books published by scholarly presses or articles published in scholarly journals. Your incorporation of ideas from these sources should be meaningful. (20 percent). Your papers should be well-written, with a clear organizational structure.
