See the instructions. Part of the paper is written, I know it is confusing I'll explain more later. The description 1 and description 2 are already written. One I wrote and the other one somebody else wrote. Basically on Tuesday at 11:59pm the synthesis and contrast paragraph is due. However, the whole rest of the paper isn't due until December 5th.

Comparison Paper Instructions Paper Summary:  Write a paper comparing and contrasting two artworks that share a similar theme.  Either choose a pairing from the list below or find a different pairing that falls under the pairing themes. If you find your own pairing, please have it approved prior to writing your first descriptive assignment.  The pairings represent artworks on the same theme from two different women artists from either different geographical regions/cultures or time periods.  Papers will consist of five parts: 1) introduction, 2) description of first artwork, 3) description of second artwork, 4) synthesis/comparison of the two works, and 5) conclusion.  The paper is at minimum 4 full pages not including images or works cited.  Images will be inserted after the conclusion (this will not count towards your paper length).  Works cited will be inserted at the end of the paper. Please use MLA Style to cite your sources.  Use at least two sources per artwork for a total of four sources. Recommended Paper Outline 1. Introduction  Thesis statement: state how the two artworks are similar and different. Be more specific than just stating that they have similarities and differences. 2. Description #1  Discuss the background of the artwork: artist’s background, artistic education/training, and cultural attitudes toward women artists of that time.  Discuss how the artwork may have functioned in the time and place it was created.  Discuss the content of the artwork, making note of what you see in the work and how these parts help create and/or communicate the theme. 3. Description #2  Discuss the background of the artwork: artist’s background, artistic education/training, and cultural attitudes toward women artists of that time.  Discuss how the artwork may have functioned in the time and place it was created.  Discuss the content of the artwork, making note of what you see in the work and how these parts help create and/or communicate the theme. 4. Synthesis/Comparison  Option 1: One paragraph that locates and elaborates on at least two similarities and between the works. In one paragraph elaborate on the theme by noting the similarities and differences between the artworks. In the second paragraph discuss the second theme and note the similarities and differences between the artworks. 5. Conclusion  Summarize thesis  Also consider extending your discussion by writing on one of the following concepts: o Discussing the reasons for comparing these artworks o Discussing why art has social and personal value o Discussing why art helps us understand the human condition and human cultures 6. Images with necessary information (artist, title, date, medium, and location). Ideally, both images and information will fit on one page. 7.
