please read this web page on Facebook and follow the instructions. This is for a business ethics course! https://techcrunch.com/2019/10/21/facebook-protect/

1. Start the essay with a brief one paragraph summary outlining the key points of the case and the theory you plan to apply in analysing it—no need to explain how the theory conceptualizes the Good as you did last time. 2. Then discuss what you think is especially troubling about the case and why. Make sure to work in some relevant discussion of Chapter 6, namely, on truth in advertizing and the associated moral obligations companies have to protect consumers under the "reasonable person" and "modified gullible person" standards. If you don't actually, upon reflection, find anything troubling, then you need to at least confront the best argument that someone might make who disagrees, and show why this view is in fact flawed. This is a much harder approach. The main goal here is to find the best way to articulate what we should find troubling in order to inform the best course of action. 3. Apply your chosen theory to the case. It can be any of the ethical or justice theories covered, i.e., act or rule utility, deontology, virtue theory, contractarianism or libertarianism. But be careful NOT to choose a theory that would actually in all likelihood disagree with your position. Choose one that helps you articulate your best considered view. This may not be the theory you happen to best understand or agree with most of the time. 4. Finally, conclude with a succinct final section discussing how the company should act going forward. And remember to always support your claims with evidence and/or logic and always be as specific as possible in your examples. Papers should be roughly 500-700 words (2-3 pages), double spaced in 12 point Times New Roman font, double-sided, and stapled without any kind of binding or plastic cover, and submitted in class next Tuesdayday, 10/29. Late papers shall incur a 5 point penalty per day. A formal bibliography is not required although any direct quotes should be referenced by author, publication and page number in parentheses at the end of the line.
